Division Chief

Division of Comparative Effectiveness and Outcomes Research

Our newly restructured Department is seeking an outstanding and visionary faculty member to serve as Chief of the Division of Comparative Effectiveness and Outcomes Re-search. The Division pursues research, education, service and innovation to improve the quality and value of medical care. The faculty in the division collaborate with important local and nation-al partners, including New York-Presbyterian Hospital, the new Cornell Tech graduate campus, and the federal government. The Chief will have resources to expand the division, which already has several leading scientists.

The candidate should have expertise and experience in one or more of the following are-as related to the evaluation of clinical interventions: pragmatic trials, observational outcomes studies/clinical epidemiology, decision science/medical decision making, economic evaluation (including cost-effectiveness analysis), patient reported outcomes, and patient-centered re-search (involving patients throughout the research and implementation process). Ideally, the successful candidate will be someone who also understands comparative health systems re-search in order to collaborate with other divisions in the department (especially the Division of Health Policy and Economics) on related projects.

The Division Chief will receive a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City as an Associate or Full Professor, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have an MD with a Doctoral or Master’s degree and/or fellowship training in health services research or a related field, or have a PhD in health services research or a related field. An extensive track record of independent and interdisciplinary collaborative research is also re-quired, as well as success in extramural funding and program development. Collaborative lead-ership skills are critical.
