Patient-Centered Comparative Outcomes researchers initiate, conduct and collaborate outcomes and quality-of-care research, within the context of interventional medicine and devices, to generate new medical technology knowledge and clinical strategies and improve care quality and efficiency. The program facilitates access to a number of data sets including Medicare data, New York State comprehensive discharge data, SEER-Medicare data for various cancer interventions, National Surgical Quality Improvement Program data as well as international registry data for various interventional procedures. With over 100 manuscripts published in the last five years, investigators from six clinical departments are actively engaged in research, including:
- Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Vascular Surgery.
- Urology.
- Colon and Rectum Surgery.
- Neurosurgery.
- Radiology.
Separately, Patient-Centered Comparative Outcomes investigators have researched interventional outcomes with outside collaborators, resulting in over 55 publications in the past five years.
