D'Angelo, Debra

Debra D'Angelo is a senior research biostatistician in the Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. She holds a Master of Science in biostatistics from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, a graduate degree in statistics from University College London and a bachelor's degree in music and psychology from The State University of New York (SUNY) Potsdam and Crane School of Music. Before joining WCM, Debra was a biostatistician at the Risk Management Department of the Hospitals Insurance Company (HIC) in New York, NY, where she provided statistical consulting and data management support for research projects and patient safety initiatives. Prior to that, she worked as a biostatistician in the Department of Biostatistics at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, performing statistical analyses for a large, international research consortium focused on autism spectrum disorders.

Debra engages in both short- and long-term biostatistical consultations for investigators throughout WCM. In addition to providing support for researchers through the Clinical & Translational Science Center (CTSC), she also works closely with the Department of Surgery on a variety of projects. Debra is also actively involved in education as a faculty member of the WCM Graduate School, teaching a database development and Structured Query Language (SQL) programming course in the Biostatistics and Data Science Master’s Program and assisting with biostatistical methodology education for medical residents, fellows and other research staff members.
