Healthcare Delivery Science & Innovation

The Division of Healthcare Delivery Science and Innovation, led by Said Ibrahim, M.D., MPH, MBA, is home to scholars of healthcare innovation and technology. The healthcare industry has experienced a proliferation of innovations, both in product and process, that have the potential to revolutionize care delivery. In fact, innovation has become a critical capability of all healthcare organizations. The purpose of this division is to be the academic R&D wing of the ongoing healthcare transformation locally, nationally, and globally. Our faculty conduct the fundamental, applied health services research that will not only create the evidence base to guide this transformation, but also inform strategy for major healthcare systems such as NYP. Pursuant to our culture of embracing multi-disciplinary collaboration and systems-based thinking, the division serves as the academic home for innovation scholars from WCM/NYP, Cornell Tech, Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and the Rockefeller University, and collaborates with other major academic institutions and stakeholders in New York City. As the home of the Executive MBA/MS in Healthcare Leadership Program, a joint venture of Weill Cornell Medicine and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University established in 2016, the division plays a leading role in training future generations of business-savvy healthcare innovators and leaders.
